Faye attacks a boring inner-city courtyard to show how easy it is to create a
colourful, peaceful and enjoyable space with help from the experts at the Mitre
10 Garden Centre.
Using a mud map prepared earlier, Faye selects some plants that require full
sun, including natives, herbs and citrus plants.
As this courtyard if fully paved, she chose a selection of both practical and
colourful pots and elected to leave the paving untouched.
This approach is ideal if you have a rental property.
Kevin assists with the potting. For reducing weight in pots leave the plant in
the pot that it’s in, prop it up and cover with coconut fibre. He also
recommends using wheels underneath the large pots so you can move them around
easily.
Faye makes a mini herb garden using mulch, to which she adds chives, basil and
pineapple sage. Don’t forget to water when you’ve finished potting.
If you need help getting larger and heavier items back home, Mitre 10 Garden
Centres can arrange home delivery.
Also, the helpful and experienced staff at your local Mitre 10 Garden
Centre will be delighted to answer your questions and help you with your
planning and selection.
