Monte wants to make sure everyone knows that there are two types of Aquadhere:
Interior and Exterior (also known as Tradesman’s Choice).
Monte used the interior type to repair a chair, and recommends using plenty of
glue to make sure it gets right down into the joint. Then cramp it until fully
cured. Wipe up excess glue with a damp rag as soon as you can and it will be
strong enough to go back into service after 24 hours.
The Exterior Aquadhere is ideal for gluing a window frame back together. To
prepare, pull the frame apart and clean up the joints (be careful not to lose
any wedges from the joints). Again use plenty of glue on the tenons and wedges,
re-assemble, and cramp until set. This glue is non-toxic, sandable, and will
stand up to the rigours of the Aussie weather.
Selleys products are available at all good hardware stores.
