Thereís nothing nicer than the look and feel of timber, but it does need
protection from the wear and tear of everyday life. White Knight Instant Clear
Finish gives timber that protection, and also enhances the grain and figure of
wood grain. It can be used on furniture, architraves, panelling, doors and
Itís available in matt, satin and gloss. Matt and satin are ideal for most uses,
as they tend not to highlight imperfections Ė although theyíre not suitable for
floors. Gloss gives a rich, reflective finish thatís also durable enough for
tabletops and floors.
Step 1: Prepare well. Sand the surface as fine as possible, and wipe off any
dust, oils or other contaminants. Mask with a good quality tape if you need to,
and remove any hardware (such as handles, hinges and knobs).
Step 2: Stir the Instant Clear Finish well, but donít shake (unless itís a spray
can) as this might cause bubbles on the paint surface.
Step 3: Apply with long even brush strokes (or spray strokes) in the same
direction as the wood grain.
Step 4: Wait for the paint to dry! Watch Letís Do It while you wait, then sand
with fine sandpaper and apply your second coat. Wait again until dry, remove
masking tape, re-apply the hardware, and enjoy your fine work.
Use good quality brushes.
Lifeís too short to spend time picking bristles off the new paint! If you use
spray cans, do it outdoors.
White Knight products are available at all good hardware stores.
