Howard Silvers Kitchen Makeover

The kitchen is the centre of household life, and that takes its toll on handles, hinges and catches. It’s easy to spruce up your kitchen and give it a new lease on life with a few simple steps.

Step 1: Remove damaged concealed hinges, one at a time, and replace with a new one. There are only a few screws involved, and the two parts of the hinge snap together. Adjust the hinges so the door closes evenly.

Step 2: Stick self-adhesive screw caps over any screw heads to hide them from view.

Step 3: Replace old knobs and handles by unscrewing the old and screwing on the new. Usually the existing screw will fit, but if not, the new handles come with new screws.

Faye’s Tip:
Carefully measure the distance between screws on your existing handles, to make sure your new ones are exactly the same. Several standard sizes are available.

Howard Silvers Door Silencers are available at all good hardware stores.
